contd; 2: the crystal cathedral went under bankruptcy in 2010, it was in $ 50 million debt. even some mega churches in the u.s. are shaking financially. jim wallis, one bible scholar said " we found thousands of verses in the bible on the poor and god's response to injstice. one in every 16 verses in the n.t. is about the poor or the subject of money". the first book written in the new testament, the book of james very emphatically drawing our attention to take care of the widows and orphans james 1:27. those preachers constantly preaching "press down and give to me, god is going to bless you abundantly" is exactly not from god. how many of them are interested to get that abundant blessings through any "press down giving"? we are all faced with a very highly critical economic crisis we have never seen recently and god is giving us a great opportunity to obey what he taught us to do " to take care of the orphans and widows in front of us".

the u.s. economic crisis has underminded many electronic preachers and the prophets of prosperity gospel are going to feel the pain shortly. i have wondered repeatedly, why none of these mega prosperity prophets never got any hint or specific revelation about this prolonged

economic crisis from god? god gave the proper revelation to joseph about the

egyptian famine and the recovery date! rev. dr. robert schuler was a blind follower of dr. norman vincent peal, pastor of the marble collegiat church in manhattan for 52 years. his book " the power of positive thinking" was a remarkable book, i read that book before coming to the u.s. i do strongly believe that we must be "positive thinkers", but applying that psychology of life as the main topic in the sunday sermons is not biblical at all. dr. shuller systematically used it since 1955, and his glamorous cystal cathedral

was opened in 1981, in gardon grove, california.

brother a.s.mathew. Thanks for the note. We need a change. If any one wants to do administrative leadership, he should STOP spiritual services. We need spiritual leaders to spent time in prayers and meditation. I think if the believers can avoid these administrative leaders from spiritual services, there will a change.

contd:2 Churches must fully concentrate on the spiritual matters. But the situation is totally changed now. Now, the State Ministers are not sitting at the Secretariat, but flying around in high speed for bridge opening and many inaugurations conducted in every nook and corner of the State. Likewise, the ministry of the Churches have turned like the political Minister's job. So, they need not have to pray much or spend time in meditations before conducting the service or delivering the sermons. To conduct many samajam meetings-weddings and funerals, only certain experience is needed.

Brother SP Kumbanad: Great men of God in the olden days like Charles Wesly-George Whitefield-C.H. Spurgeon-D.L. Moody etc etc spent hours in prayer before delivering their sermons. They could win thousnads of souls to Christ through their holy spirit charged sermons. Now, if we ask a plain questions to these preachers about the hours they spent before delivering a sermon, we will get stomach pain by the correct answers they give. How many of them have tears in their eyes? " They that sow in tears shall reap in joy" Psalms 126:5. In all the Churches, both in the Episcopal and Pentecostal Churches, there must be a radical reformation about the Church administration. The Pastors must be fully engaged in the Ministry, not at all in the administration. Likewise, the religious hierarchy of the Episcopal Churches must be fully engaged in the divine calling they will have to undertake, not at all in the administration.

I think its better for these leaders to concentrate on the administation part of the church, and avoid all kinds of spiritual services. If they want to do spiritual services, then they need more time for prayer and meditation. The real curse is that these leaders want to be in the leadership and do spiritual services too, which is not right. The church is missing spiritual leadership because these leaders are trying to collect the money back, which they spent to be on the chair. They are riding in two boats-administration and spiritual services.

contd:3 it is an absolute necessity that the u.s. and the euro union nations will have to recover from this prolonged recession, else the whole world would be pushed into a secondary recession.

king david with all his weakness of life was such an humble personality. " what is man that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? for thou has made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned with glory and honour. thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou has put all things under his feet" psalms 4-6. " but thou shall remember the lord they god: for it he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day". deut 8:18. almost $2 billion was spent for the u.s. election by both parties. in the church elections, lakhs are spent. the man-made wealth is playing the key role in the denominational elections; god is an alien in the elections.

Contd:2 My friend shared with me an interesting reality a few years back. He told me that the Kerala Pastor in that mega city used to remind the believers to come inside to start the service on Sundays, but the brothers were talking outside about the stock market-money created overnight etc. A few years back, the stock markets were crashed, and these brothers went early to Church, took seats closer to the pulpit and started crying for the money lost. The U.S. had 10 trillion dollar debt in 2008, now it is 16 trillion. According to the prominent economists, they have created a formula of an healthy economy. Unemployment not more than 6%. Gross Domestic Production(GDP) not less than 3%. Consumer confidence not less than 70%, and the PM1 (Purchasing Manager's Index) not less than 50. The U.S. and the Euro Union nations have miserably failed in this testing without getting a passing grade in any of them.

brother a thomas: your are indeed giving a warning signal, not only to the "religious political leaders', but to the whole believers. if we won't humble ourselves and cry to god for his mercy, events are shaping up to enforce us to repent! i am touching an entirely different topic with the anticipation to draw the attention of the readers about the forthcoming economic crisis we are going to be faced with, in the days ahead.

the european union countries-27 with the gdp a little over 18 trillion dollars. the u.s. 16 trillion dollars. the euro union countries and the u.s. are nominal christian nations, but centuries back, these countries sent missionaries to far off dark lands of asia and africa to spread the gospel, spent millions of dollars for evangelization-education-medical care etc, and through those avenues, millions of people came to know jesus christ as their saviour.

i wish these candidates, whether they have won or lost should abstain from public ministry of preaching and teaching at least for 6 months. when our church still has the policy of suspension/excommunication etc., why this is not applicable to the leaders. they have brought the church to public shame. the new leaders should abstain themselves from public ministry and spend time praying, fasting, self-examining, reconciling with their opponents, reconciling with god etc. i am so ashamed that this happened in my church. i wish if the new leaders will unanimously think about implementing new strategies to avoid this kind of election.

@ sp kumbanad; sir i agree with you completely,i have come to a closer realisation that all organisations operate at a very shallow level of faith, belief and preaching.

To be part of the glorious inheritance,we need to follow the Gandhian principal of not to see evil, speak or hear
